I have also finished (sort of) my Germany webpage. I have had one for years, but have modified it a lot these last weeks to accommodate me if/when I move. There is a lot of Expat information on it. Now, if any Expat in Germany reads this and has any help and advice to give me, I'll certainly welcome that.
Here's a link to my 2008 vacation in Bremen and Berlin Germany. Wow, did I have a great time. I walked so much my feet ached. Honestly.
Due to the damage that occurred last year with the leaky door, I have finally got around to getting the flooring done in the laundry room. I picked out a black tile (Armstrong Suede). I have also chosen a black granite threshold, which was custom made by "the Granite Guy". I contracted the work through Lowe's, but Tim from AA Construction will be doing the actual tile job.
Here's a link to some pictures from start to finish. The final product isn't there yet. I have to move the washer and dryer back in and wire shelves to put up.

During the summer of 1977, my mother and I were visiting relatives in New York City. We made a trip down to the southern tip of the island and visited the Statue of Liberty and the World Trade Center.
This picture is of me and my mother on the top of the observation deck of the World Trade Center in New York City. This picture cannot ever be taken again.

On Tuesday, August 14, 2007, I went to Springfield and spent the day with my step-daughter Meghan. It was a blast. We ate lunch at the Feed Store, visited the Old Capitol Building, the Lincoln Museum, Union Station, and walked to the Dana Thomas house for a look around the outside. Everyone should visit the Lincoln Museum in Springfield, IL. Everyone!
My first entry is to let people know that I have 1886 days left until my 62nd birthday and planned retirement date. At that time, I plan on moving to Berlin or Bremen, Germany to retire. That'll make me an Expat. It doesn't make me a criminal or am I deserting my country. I am still an American. I was born in Hawaii, lived in Pohnpei, Guam, California, and currently Illinois. I think that means I've been pretty mobile during my life. There's no sense in stopping now. I know the move will have some difficulties, but I will survive.

Well, I have decided to add a blog to my website. Actually, I want to call it a diary. I want a place to keep track of some of my tasks, worries, and futures. I'll try it for awhile and decide if I want to keep it.
I am NOT a blogger. The software does allow others to respond to anything I write, and I'll welcome that. However, don't spout off any wild opinions of my writing skills, religious beliefs, political agenda, or any just plain negativity. Please! But, Ideas are welcome.
Pohnpei was a wonderful place. I was very young when there, about 2 years - 4 years old. Here's a... read more
